This happens way too often if there is more than one person in line. Maybe that was how it worked back in the day, but in my store I need to ring that barcode to keep the count right. Yes, even on Newspapers.
I don’t mind as much if they’re nice and I can ask which paper it is and ring it later, but- It is alarming how many people think throwing a dollar at me and waving a paper out the door is okay.

DON’T FUCKING PUT MONEY ON THE COUNTER, NOT HAVE THE CASHIER ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT YOU’RE BUYING, AND LEAVE. THAT IS ALMOST STEALING.
